Chao are mythical creatures that first appeared in Sonic Adventure in 1999 for the Dreamcast.They also appear in the game "Sonic Adventure 2 Battle" for the gamecube and many other games. They are obtainable by getting a Chao Key from a Blue Chao Box found in the mission stages in SA2B.They are Protected by a creature called "Chaos". They live in a garden that is safe for them.

                      You start out in the Chao Garden with two eggs, and you can raise the chao that come out. You can affect their alignment by the way you treat them. If they are abused alot or raised with villains such as Shadow, Rouge, or Eggman, then they might become a dark chao. If treated with love and respect or raised by Sonic, Tails, or Knuckles, then they might become a hero chao. If treated normally (without too much love or abuse) by both sides, then they will become a neutral chao.

Chaos chao are immortal chao that are unique compared to regular chao. They never die. Never. Some people consider an all-S rank chaos chao to be the ultimate chao.They are obtained in a certain way. Look below.

Angel Chao: (hero) Obtainable by reincarnating your chao 2 times and in the 3rd early life, give your chao all 21 animals (make a list of the animals) then raise it with a hero.

Light Chao: (neutral) Obtainable by reincarnating your chao 2 times and in the 3rd early life, give your chao all 21 animals (make a list of the animals) then raise it with both a hero and a villian.

Devil Chao: (dark) Obtainable by reincarnating your chao 2 times and in the 3rd early life, give your chao all 21 animals (make a list of the animals) then raise it with a villian.

It takes approximately 31 hours in real life to obtain a chaos chao.

Purple (Fly) Class:

1. Parrot

Red (Power) Class:

1. Gorilla

2. Tiger(Note the tiger has stripes on it while the tiger has spots.)

3. Bear

Green (Run) Class:

Yellow (Swim) Class:

3. Seal

 Blue (Intelligence) Class:

1.Raccoon

2. Sheep

3. Skunk

Gold (Luck) Class:

1. Dragon

2. Phoenix

Black Class:

The Black Class small animals allow your chao to wear hats.

1. Bat - Chao Loses Legs.

2. Half-Fish (Sea Creature) - Chao get a fire emote ball.

3. Skeleton Dog - Chao loses animal parts.

(Note: When you give your chao a bat and it loses its legs, you can get them back by giving a skeleton dog or an animal with feet. But if the chao is an adult Dark Chao, then you'll have to wait for the Dark Chao to reincarnate first.)
